What does our importation service of goods to the Canary Islands entail?
We take care of managing the entire importation process, from collection at the origin to delivery at the destination, ensuring that all legal and customs requirements are met. Our “Door to Door” service in detail:
Collection of the goods
We pick up the goods at the specified point agreed upon with the client at the time of contracting. This can be anywhere in the world.
National or international transportation
Once the cargo is collected, we will manage all transportation to the final destination specified by the client. The process could involve various means of transportation, depending on the location and the client’s needs.
Customs procedures
A key aspect of this service is the management of all necessary customs procedures both in the country of origin and in the destination country. This includes the preparation and submission of customs declarations and, if necessary due to the characteristics of the cargo, also post-customs procedures.
Specific Supply Regime (REA)
We guarantee that our clients can benefit, if applicable, from European aid for imports that certain sectors benefit from when importing to the Canary Islands.
Delivery at the final destination
Once all customs procedures are completed, the goods would be delivered to the final destination specified by the client, thus providing a complete door-to-door service.

It is very important to comply with the various requirements and specific regulations of the Canary Islands customs. At Tránsitos Mario Ramos, we have over 40 years of experience in the industry and are familiar with each of the differentiating aspects for importing goods to the Canary Islands.
Canarian Taxation
In the Canary Islands, there are two administrations involved in the importation of goods. On one hand, Customs, which depends on the State Tax Administration Agency (Government of Spain), and on the other hand, the Canary Islands Tax Agency (ATC).
In the Canary Islands, there are two import taxes, the IGIC and the AIEM.
Additionally, there are other special taxes that apply to certain products at a lower tax rate than the rest of the European Union.
Para-Customs Controls
Para-customs controls are complementary measures to customs controls applied to certain types of goods, aimed at strengthening border security and integrity.
- Sanitary controls: Monitoring and supervision of potential health risks associated with the importation of products from external countries.
- Phytosanitary controls: Implementation of safeguards against the entry and spread of harmful organisms to plants and products derived from them.
- Animal health: Validation of compliance with European standards regarding the animal health of products imported from external nations.
- CITES: Ensure the preservation of wild fauna and flora species at risk of extinction through the regulation and monitoring of their trade.
-
The SOIVRE Inspection Service plays a fundamental role as an inspection entity at border points. During the importation process, it ensures that regulatory standards are met in terms of commercial quality, safety, and the absence of pesticide residues. Goods that must undergo this procedure include:
- Agricultural and food products
- Industrial products
- Organic products
- Electrical and electronic devices (EEE)
- Batteries and accumulators
